Activity Block, Water/exercise- Surfing instruction, stand-up paddle-boarding (SUP), hiking, exploring various beaches, bicycle riding, walking etc. Dependent on weather and water conditions.
Spanish Immersion- Direct written and spoken Spanish instruction. Trips and outings to local events and businesses to practice. Other cultural activities intended to strengthen comprehension and practice Spanish.
Dinner Prep- rotating student and staff prepare dinner. Rotating schedule with students gaining experience in food preparation and planning.
Scuba/Snorkel- Scuba diving with instructor at local beaches and reefs in order to gain NAUI open water certification. Snorkeling with staff on local reefs and beaches.
Wellness/Life Coaching/Strengths Assessment and Development- Individual and group life coaching. VIA Character Strengths Survey and goal development. Activities and discussions focused around positive self-identity development, building intrinsic motivation, and gaining confidence. Weekly phone and/or email updates to parents if needed.
Exploratory- Academic, Life Skills & Career Assessments. Career Planning (assignments and resume building) Volunteer activities and events. Online or on campus college course work.
Adventure Trip- Staff and student selection of road trip around the island. Preference to activity/adventure based activities. Waterfalls, caves, rain forest, hiking trails, beach exploration, boat trips, cultural festivals and events. Historic sites, museums, concerts etc.
Brunch/House Cleaning-1x per week group meal and cleaning of house. Laundry, cleaning car and maintaining gear.
Weekly Planning Meeting- Staff led schedule of the week for each student. Outline activities and schedule. Student maintains individual schedule and schedule board at house is updated. Healthy menu and meal planning including budgets for the week.
